The Heart-Land program is based on the rotation model of instruction. Themes are chosen for the year, then the children rotate through different activities based on the theme. Activities include art, science, games, cooking, music and drama. The preschoolers stay in their own room and participate in activities similar to the rotations. Heart-Land also includes time for intergenerational and whole group themes, usually focused on Christian and Episcopal traditions such as prayer and the understanding the Book of Common Prayer. Heart-Land gathers as a whole group each Sunday for its opening session before moving into the activities for the day.
