Meet Our Vestry
The Christ Episcopal Church Vestry gathers at its regularly-scheduled meetings at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. The twelve members follow the canon law requirements; tending to the finances of the church, caring for the buildings and grounds, and ensuring that personnel are in place. Susie Streit observes, “Beyond that, especially during this interim period, we [the vestry] are trying diligently to keep our ears to the ground, keep a pulse on the tenor of the parish, and be especially vigilant to the care and feeding of our flock.”
The Vestry has prayerfully adopted a statement of mission, key values and vision to guide the Christ Church parish through this time of seeking a new priest and into the future. (Read our full mission statement here.) The vestry and congregation consider this statement a work in progress, and plan to revisit it with congregational input each year at a Vestry retreat. The next Vestry retreat has been postponed from January until after the new rector has been called to Christ Church.
Senior Warden Susie Streit notes, “This may sound lofty, but in truth, our parish is blessed with many capable, trained and willing people who are gifted with all the gifts we need to equip our parishioners to go out and ‘do the work we are given to do.’"
