Companion Diocese Relationships

Resolved,
That at the request of the Diocese of West Tennessee, a companion diocese
relationship between that diocese and the Diocese of Barbados in the Church
in the Province of the West Indies be established, such relationship to be
in effect until October 1, 1991, unless sooner terminated by mutual consent;
and be it further
Resolved,
That at the request of the Diocese of New Hampshire, a companion diocese
relationship between that diocese and the Diocese of the Virgin Islands be
established, such relationship to be in effect until January 1, 1992, unless
sooner terminated by mutual consent; and be it further
Resolved,
That at the request of the Diocese of Iowa, the companion diocese
relationship with the Diocese of Brechin in the Scottish Episcopal Church be
renewed through January 1992, and that a new companion relationship be
established with the Diocese of Swaziland in the Church of the Province of
Southern Africa, such relationship to run concurrently and in collaboration
with the Brechin companionship; and be it further
Resolved,
That at the request of the Diocese of Milwaukee, a companion diocese
relationship be established with the Diocese of Tuam, Killala and Achonry in
the Church of Ireland, such relationship to be in effect until January 1,
1992, unless sooner terminated by mutual consent; and be it further
Resolved,
That at the request of the Diocese of Chicago, a companion diocese
relationship between that diocese and the Diocese of Nicaragua be
established, such relationship to be in effect until January 1,1992, unless
sooner terminated by mutual consent; and be it further,
Resolved,
That at the request of the Diocese of Western Massachusetts, the companion
diocese relationship now established with the Diocese of Mount Kilimanjaro
in the Church of the Province of Tanzania be renewed through June 1991; and
be it further
Resolved,
That at the request of the Diocese of Ohio, a companion diocese relationship
between that diocese and the Diocese of Port Elizabeth, in the Church of the
Province of Southern Africa, be established, such relationship to be in
effect until January 1, 1992,unless sooner terminated by mutual consent; and
be it further
Resolved,
That the above dioceses avail themselves of previous earnings and
guidelines, through consultation with the Episcopal Church Center staff and
others, and that each companion share its own experience and learnings with
the larger church. |
