Opening Prayer
“We don’t have to step down for others to step up for what they support” was offered when we talked about the balance of Haiti, Swazi and other budgetary crises.“Listen to the Heartbeat” diocesan mission conference was Feb. 12 and 13. Melody will have packets of the handouts available if people would like a set. It was a valuable experience and people would like to find a way to keep it in front of CEC folks.
January Minutes
The Minutes were approved as circulated.Dessert Auction (DA)
Sunday, April 18. Baked potato bar lunch. Desserts will be recruited and an “all call” will be issued. The proceeds from the DA will be school furnishings and supplies for St. Augustine’s. We talked about a photo promo using before and after photos of St. A’s. Fundraising
Bike Ride or Bike Race?
We felt it best to drop the bike ride/race idea.Waters of Hope
Charles will follow up with Paul to see if the Waters of Hope riders need overnight accommodations/ dinner in Cedar Rapids.Eat In to Help Out (EITHO)
Leslee will again orchestrate this fundraiser. She’ll use photo note cards to invite folks to host an EITHO. The invitation will suggest that EITHO occur from now until Labor Day so that picnics and child-friendly meals can be an option (although if someone has a dinner in Nov. we will not turn down the gift). The invite will also mention that we have supported the Water Project, St. A’s and Neighborhood Care Points. And, it was suggested that the quote, “No child has died” be included in the invite. Cheryl, Dan, Melody and Paula offered to be the EITHO Speakers’ Bureau.Kate R
