“You most likely do
not believe everything you were taught as a child. As you embark on
this creative, spiritual life, now is the time to be honest with
yourself. Have the courage to let go of dead beliefs. If you’re like
me, once you let go of beliefs you will be compelled to search more than
ever for what is true. Giving up beliefs is not the same as giving up
God or spirituality. A true belief holds on to you, not vice versa.
And our questions—even the scary ones—will lead us to more knowledge and
more growth than do our certainties.”
